Potty Training Help?? :)?
I have been potty training for a couple weeks now. When we are home, my daughter (2) will pee in the potty all day. The only time she has on a diaper is for her nap and during the night. So far this hasn't confused her. She loves her underwear and loves telling me when she pees! She gets to flush the toilet after! :D
My question is, how do you go about going places? We've had two small outings but each time she held it until we got home. I tried to let her pee on the potty where we were but she wouldn't, even though she knew she needed to. She prefers her potty. Its just a little kid potty. Any tips?
Also, any tips on how to get her to use the big potty? I mean as far as making it secure for her to use? I know I can buy one of those things that sit on it, but I don't trust her to get up and down with just something like a stool. She doesn't tell me when she has to go, she just goes and then comes and shows me.
Thanks for any advice you have!

I bought my daughter a Dora thing that is lightweight and goes on the toilet seat. I let her pick it out herself which she really was excited about. I know that it may be a hassle but I carried it around with me for a while. You can find them at Wal-Mart.
Also you can start a chart with a sticker system and if she gets say five stickers for going at a place other than home give her a prize like a new book or something. You can ask her "Do you need to go potty?" If she says yes but she wants to wait remind her of the stickers and say she can earn a sticker for going potty.
I did this with my daughter because she didn't hold it she would just pee because she was scared of the potties at the store.
Good luck!

For $30 bucks you can get a toilet seat that has a potty seat built right in! It just lifts up when not needed! when you get her used to using the toilet instead of her potty chair you won't have a problem getting her to go when out somewhere!
Act like you did when you were starting potty training.
But try it with a booster seat and stool on the big potty.
In time she will become more comfortable with it.
Good Luck!

I started training last Wednesday, we have had only 1 accident since then and she was on the way to the bathroom. About 15 mintues ago I just got back from an all morning outing, our first and I was nervous. Luckily she likes the big potty too, I just hold her over it and she does her business. I just am sure to ask her if she wants to pee, she always says no, but she lets me know when she needs to.
When i go to church I bring her potty and put it in the nursery (I work in it). The reason we dont use it is because its a traditional Mexican bathroom with no lid for the stool and pretty much in darkness, she wouldnt use it (I dont blame her, I dread using it lol)

when we first potty trained her, we spent the first week at home.
the second week we went out but brought the potty with us, so when ever she needed to go was able to take her to the bathroom whip it out and sit her down, just brought antibacterial wipes with us to clean it each time it was used. Knowledge of business and finance, please go to pregnancy
the third week we bought a plain white insert for our toilet seat that would hold her safely. it does have a step with it, however have found she doesn't want to climb onto the toilet herself, she needs me to come with her every time she goes for a wee. like your daughter, she never told me she needed a wee when she was using the potty, would just get on with it and then come and tell me that she had. have taken the potty away completely now and she just uses the toilet, whether at home or while visiting.
