Mixed daughter has lighter skin patches?

Mixed daughter has lighter skin patches?
Hello Mommies

My daughter who will be 18 months old next week is white and hispanic. She isn't dark, she's a light carmel color.

The other day I started noticing patches of very fair skin all over her face, neck and stomach. To me it looks like she may be lightening up after summer but I am curious what it is.

Any mommies out there with toddlers who's skin has done this?

Thanks =]

I think you may want to take her to a dermatologist. It could be nothing, but it could be an issue with her skin pigmentation.

A friend of mine who is white and african american has some lighter patches on her skin. But they are very few. As far as I know, she doesn't have any skin issues, but I still say to get this checked.

That does happen to certain kids, i have friend who was like that couple of years back, but after some sports, and being fit, she had a fair single tone and n o patch. For some kids it disappears after an age, for others they need sunlight. And sometimes it's permanent, it's not odd, but it happens rarely.

My daughter used to have a patch on her leg that was always lighter then the surrounding skin. She's Native American/white mix. I haven't noticed it the last few years though and she's 7 now.
