When you didn't have children, did you ever worry a
Serious question here, by the way.
I'm 17 and I admit I do suffer from anxiety (i.e. death, school stress with marks, and the future) and I can't help worrying that I am infertile, for NO apparent reason.
I've already decided that I want children....obviously not anytime soon as I still have about ten more years of schooling left, and I only want a child when I know I can provide for it the best way I can.
And so I feel anxiety about being infertile, even though to my knowledge nobody in my family has ever experienced it (didn't know if it was genetics) and I have not had any problems that would suggest there would be a chance that I would be infertile.
It's just another one of my idiotic anxiety problems, but I can't help thinking about it. Did anyone else feel this way ?

Oh yes, I was 31 when I had my son. 20 something productive years with no pregnancy and I did have a problem. Some kind of tubal blockage or something. It was easily fixed when they flushed them out and I was pregnant the next month. Don't rush it, if you have a problem they will most likely be able to fix it.
No, I didn't ever worry about that. I was more concerned with NOT getting pregnant.
It wasn't ever an issue for me either. 12 days after I got off the Pill I got pregnant with my 1st child. It never took more than a single cycle of "trying" for me to get pregnant with any of my 3 kids (and in fact, one was conceived without trying).

I want kids one day and am the same way from time to time.
I guess all you could do is go to the doctor for an examination if your anxiety is troubling you enough to spend the money

Yes I did think about that occasionally. I guess I still do. My baby is almost 4 and I'm now 30. I wonder if I'll be able to conceive in a few more years.
No, but I do wish that I was born infertile.
I had a lot of anxiety when I was younger and I always wanted kids but knew that I didn't want them until I was really old enough to take care of them. I didn't get married until I was 27 and even then we waited almost 3 years to have our first child and I definitely was afraid that I wouldn't be able to conceive (my sister thought I was crazy for thinking about it; it was weird, but it did make me nervous).
I'm 38 and I have 5 kids, so I guess I'm not infertile after all =D
If you want, your doctor can do some tests to check, but the truth is that you really do have nothing to worry about. Try your best to think about something else and enjoy your youth before you settle down and have kids!
Good luck!!

I did a little, me and my boyfriend were sexually active and there were a few times I missed pills or we didn't use protection and I never got pregnant, I thought maybe I had a fertility problem, then I got pregnant with my daughter at 16, I was surprised, but in retrospect I shouldn't have been, I guess I felt invincible, my daughter was 6 when we tried for our second and when it took longer then 1 month I worried I couldn't conceive, I eventually did, but I too am prone to worry endlessly about things I have no control over (death is a big one) I try to stay in the moment and focus on short time goals, if I think to far ahead I end up thinking of me in a coffin (im dramatic that way, lol) just focus on today and whats happening now and will be happening tomorrow, best wishes
I did have that fear around age 18-19... My (now) husband and I didn't use a condom for a year and I didnt' get pregnant... (we weren't trying to... just being stupid kids not using protection)... After about 8 months of doing that an dnot getting pregnant, I started to worry that something might really be wrong with me so I didn't go back on birth control because I just wanted to 'see' what would happen and by time it had been a year I decided what I was doing was dumb so I then got back on birth control and I was on it for a couple years and I got pregnant on it about 3 weeks after my 21st birthday! But yes, during that year of unprotected sex that didn't result in pregnancy I was worried I may be infertile.. but as it turns out I must be quite fertile what with getting pregnant on birth control and all lol
