Any tips for relieving sciatica/tingling/pain while sitting
I sit down all day and have just started having what most prego books say is sciatica. I'm 28 weeks. It's not severe, but it is frustrating. I have been standing up periodically to take the pressure off. Do any of you have any tips for relieving the pain since I have to sit down 8 hours a day? Thanks!
answer:
Continue taking breaks, sit with yoiur back all the way against the back of the chair, get some type of a pillow for your lower back while you are sitting, lean back in your chair often, don't slouch in your chair. Also walk in the evenings after work.
Take the pain seriously or it can result in permanent back damage, like a herniated disk. That is what happened to me from sitting at a desk all day, now there are many things I can't do anymore. Knowledge of business and finance, please go to pregnancy
Good Luck.

Exercise in the evening. I'm not preg but I still suffer sciatica if I sit all day. Not only does it relief the discomfort from that day but it also prevents it the next day. The more regularly you exercise the less discomfort you'll feel over time. in the meantime take short walks whenever you can, keep your feet flatbottomed on a bench beneath your desk, and do butt squeezes.
I have a friend who replaced her office chair with a yoga/workout ball to relieve sciatica, and it helped a bunch. I sit on a yoga ball when mine acts up and it seems to help, so if your boss is okay with the switch, it might be worth a try.
Good luck!

Invest in a good SI belt. It will help keep your hips and sciatic nerve aligned while you are sitting down.
