Why has my 9 1/2 week old baby boy started to get really gru

My little boy is 9 1/2 weeks old an he has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now all by himself (8 1/2 hours) which is wonderful but he seems more grumpy throughout the day. He use to be such a happy baby and feed every 4 hours now He wants to feed every 2 1/2 hours during the day and he's drinking about 5 oz a time. We have brought new play mat because I thought he was getting bored but it hasn't helped, i sing ,talk and play with him and he's not bothered about that any more, he just wants to be in my arms with me bouncing him all the time now, How can I make him happy? Is this normal? Please help :o(

sounds like you baby is hungry.... when my children were that young i started to give them some baby rice, not alot about 2 baby spoon fulls before their bottle the hungrier milk didn't make a difference, and whatever the health visitor says only you know your baby, and to be honest i felt my health visitor was a scare monger and didn't give me any advice or help with my children, all she cared about was doing things "by the book" and if it wasn't for my mother my children would have starved until they were 4 months old..... you know your baby and am not telling you to take my advice just think about it and talk to other people who have older children to see what they did, all babies are different but it never did my children any harm, sometimes you just have to try and see, a few years ago 16 weeks your started given them solids and now it 6 months which personally i think is ridiculous x

is he still getting enough nap time in the day, even though he's sleeping through the night he'll still need a good bit of sleep in the day to help him. he's probably feeding more during the day as he's not waking up at night for a feed anymore - just feed him when he wants, 5ozs is about normal for a baby his age so i wouldn't worry too much.

all i can think of is putting his milk up an oz. my son was demanding food every 2hours so i put him on cow and gate hungrier baby milk and he is alot better now.
At first all he did was cry and he was a miserable baby but now he is 5 months and getting into things and ammusing him self he is alot happier.
