Breastfeeding Moms: When did you start your period again?

Breastfeeding Moms: When did you start your period again?
I had the normal bleeding for about 4 weeks after giving birth vaginally, it wasnt heavy. I have a 10 week old and havent started my period yet. Just wondering when other mom's started theirs. I know its normal not to start it yet, but Im just wondering when others did....

Yes, I regularly breastfeed at least every 3 hours during the day and at night I breastfeed once (she wakes once from 9-7 am)

answer:
My period didn't start again until after baby was weaned -- I weaned at 14 months and started up about 6 weeks after that.

(The 'average' FWIW, is 9 months.)

I didn't start until my kids were almost done nursing - as long as they were still nursing 3 times a day, I didn't have a period. copyright pregnancy question and answers,Other-Business&Finance

I'm not sure how much of that is cause and effect, though - when my son was 10 months old we went to visit a relative who had a tendency to drag anyone around her to her menstrual schedule, and we visited while she was on her period. While we were visiting, my period started, and my milk supply dried up to almost nothing within a week of that. I was heartbroken as we'd planned on nursing for a year.

My daughter nursed regularly until 14 months, when she suddenly decided she wasn't doing it except at night, and then my periods started.

My first was breastfeed until 4 months old and I didnt get a regular cycle till he was 7 and 8 months old. I only had two regular cycles before I got pregnant for the 2nd time with his brother.

My second is 9 months old and exclusively breastfed and I still haven't had a cycle since my regular PP bleeding since dec,09. He was born nov,09.

They were both c sections.

Despite nursing exclusively every 2 hours around the clock with no bottles or pacifiers I still got my period back at about 10 weeks postpartum.

Most women go on average 9 months, some won't get a period the entire time they nurse, others (like me) get it back almost right away.

Mine didn't return until about 15-16 months when I stopped pumping at work. Going that 9 hours without nursing/pumping seemed to signal it to come back. My daughter was a very frequent nurser when we were together though- every 1-2 hours during day, at least 3-4 times at night till about 17 months.

I was in hospital for over a week and couldn't breastfeed but tried to keep pumping. Started breastfeeding again a week after coming home but my period came back a week later. Still exclusively breastfeeding now and am back to my normal cycle.

After giving birth, I bled for 2 weeks, started the mini pill at 6 weeks and started my period at 7 weeks. I am also breastfeeding.

Mom to 9 week old baby boy

I was an exclusive pumper, my post c-sec (twins!) bleeding was close to 6 weeks, but "Aunt Flo" didn't return until my 9th month post partum.

With my first, it was 4 months postpartum. With my second, it was 1 full year. Neither were sleeping through the night regularly at that point.

I started the week after I stopped breastfeeding. But everybody is different.

i started at 6 weeks postpartum exactly and i exclusively breastfeed! im def not happy about it

15 months postpartum. My daughter was still nursing pretty frequently at that time.

I got mine back the week before my son's 1st birthday! And we were (are) still nursing frequently night and day.

I have a 7 month old and still havent gotten my period.
