Why do people allow their 11-12 year old girls out in public

I see this almost every day. Little girls running around in mini skirts, halter tops and one even has her belly button pierced! (She told me she was 11). My sons have started calling them prostitots.

The parents are certainly at fault here. I have a fourteen year old and i let her pick all her own clothes out but they have to be approved by me. We have talked about what is attractive on her and what is trashy. She has great judgment and i rarely have to exercise my veto power on her wardrobe but i always have the ability to do so if necessary. It is terrible but have you seen the way some of the mothers of these girls dress? Not much better. I also have a five year old daughter and i think the best way is to set an example for them on how a lady should dress or act, not all mothers see it that way. It is certainly evident by observing the way these girls are dressing that not everyone does see it that way.

Live and let live. If they're happy and they're not making anyone else unhappy then there's no problem except the one you have with them.

well, i'm 13 and my sister is ten... I know alot of kids like this, and their parents want to be cool and for their kids to think they're cool. stupid i know.

oh yes i've seen it too. its sad really. i think parents are forgetting that they are to PARENT their children, not be their childs new BEST FRIEND that lets them do whatever they want.

Pay attention to the parents of these kids. They are usually the ones in too short skirts at school functions and ample cleavage at the playground. there's nothing wrong with wanting to look good but you (and your 11 year old) can do it and still be "cool" by dressing with some common sense.

I don't know. I'm twelve, and I don't really see people wearing halter tops and mini skirts. At the most, tank tops and shorts. They aren't your kids, so stop judging. It's not like they're going on the streets and whoring themselves for cash. :P
