Should I be concerned about my 7 yrs old daughters friend who picks at sores all over her face and body?
I was concerned about her last year when this was bad enough but it seems to have gotten worse...now she has sores on her face as well. She also constantly clears her throat (Tourette's?) and still has to wear pullups to bed. I was under the impression from her parents that she didnt need the pullups anymore but low and behold when it was bedtime (she is staying with us for the week) I was informed by her that she needed pullups. I am concerned that there are issues here that need to be addressed but am at a loss for how to discuss this with her parents. How do I talk to them about my concerns without making them feel like I am judging them?

answer:
Ask them what her soars are caused from. There should be a logical explanation, she may have a skin condition that needs to be treated. If they don't give you anything to treat her while you are watching her and don't have a explanation as to why she has these sores, then that's something to be concerned about. You have every ring to call Child Protective Services and have them investigate.
