How to deal with mean highschool students?

Long story short, I'm from a very very poor but amazing family. I'm not trying to brag, but I'm a bright kid and the year before I was getting ready to move up to the local, public high schooll, a private high school opened up in my area. Because of my academics and such, I got a full ride (all 4 years) to attend.
Well, its obvious we are very poor - and all (literally ALL) the students at this private highschool are very wealthy. The wealthiest in the county - most coming from very well known names.

Anyway, how can I deal with the meanness of high school students - girls and guys?? I get made fun of a lot and I just can't figure out how to deal with it. Any suggestions??

BTW - luckily, I have to close friends at the school (ironically - the two wealthiest) who stick up for me a lot but there is only so much they can do

well, you can tell them off, you know, say "yo mama" jokes and all the stuff, this might get you in trouble but it is a lot more satisfying. another thing you can do is take the abuse and not let it get to you, like ignore it. i learn at a very early age, self control and discipline, and when someone tried to insult or pick a fight with me, i would just shrug it off. and even when they did get caught, i tried to fight for them, not against them. i strongly believe in peace and the fact that if he hates me, the whole school year is gonna be that much harder. so if you want the best way, just ignore it, don't let it get to you. the only downside with this tactic is that it needs a lot of self control, and i mean A LOT!!

Violence isn't the answer, but it may come down to it at one point (leave that in consideration)
otherwise just blank them out. and as long as you have people who can stick up for you, and who are close to you, it shouldn't be too much of a problem :)

What jerks! I go to a private school too, and EVERYONE in my school is such spoiled brats, well no not everyone, Im not, my friends arent but, I know how you feel, the kids in school are sporting around juicy catour and other brand name bags while i have bags from goodwill.
Your school sounds worse then mine. They sound like arrogant minded b!itches. i know its hard but dont respond if they are like HA YOUR POOR YOU CANT AFFORD ANYTHING. and they continue to harrass you be like, atleast i got into this school because im actually smart, and not because my daddy pays for everything

I know this might sound cheesy but ignore them. Their opinons doesn't matter. If those people make fun of you because you're poor, then they're obviously very shallow people who can't see past social class.
Some people might just be jealous because you will get far in life from your amazing grades. Focus on your academics because that's a big part of school.

You'll only see those people that make fun of your while you're IN school. When you're out of school, at home, holidays, whenever, you won't even see them. Whatever mean things they say does not change the good person you are inside. Careers_Employment pregnancy.yifei8.netParenting
Keep in mind, when anyone makes fun of you, it only shows their insecurities so you should be feeling sorry for them!

Stick with your two close and true friends. You could put your trust in them and you know they'll always be there for you.
